Lewis wins two AGC Build Washington Awards

2011 was the first year ever for the “Technology Excellence” category. Lewis won this competitive award with WebPM, a customized application of SharePoint. WebPM dramatically improves project document coordination - speeding communication, saving time for the entire team, and ensuring that every detail is covered. “Using Lewis’ [WebPM] as a portal between the design team and contractor really helped to streamline the document exchange process . . . I don't think we could have been able to meet the schedule without [WebPM].  I would gladly use it again . . .”  Whit Middlecoff, AIA, GBD ARCHITECTS Incorporated.

The other win was in the “Best Private Project over $25 million” category. Lewis won with its 505 First Avenue S. project for Starbucks, which is a landmark 292,000 square foot, seven-story office building in Pioneer Square.  Lewis completed the work with zero time-loss incidents, three months ahead of schedule, on-budget, and achieved LEED Silver despite complexities including an extremely difficult site and the owner's substantial rethink of the building during construction.
