East Portland Community Center

Lewis completed an aquatics addition as well as renovations and additions to the East Portland Community Center (EPCC). In addition to being the first ever LEED Platinum public aquatic center, EPCC includes a community center, meeting room, party room and fitness areas. Sustainable building features include a water system saving 1,500,000 gallons per year, storm water runoff bioswales, indoor light meters, solar panels and an ultraviolet water treatment system reducing the amount of chlorine required. Additionally, nearly all construction debris for the project were recycled and the buildings HVAC heat waste is recovered and used to heat the pool.
