University of Washington Anderson Hall

The Project
A century after it first opened, University of Washington's Anderson Hall is ready for its next chapter. Lewis recently led the progressive design-build renovation of this four-story historic UW campus building. The project addressed structural, seismic, energy, and code upgrades while modernizing programmatic spaces, preserving the collegiate gothic style extending the building’s functional life, and enhancing its connection to campus.

About
Anderson Hall supports vital environmental and natural resources instruction and research. Alongside Hennebery Eddy, Lewis brought the building up to ADA standards, repaired the roof, and installed new seismic bracing. A new south-end curtain wall brings in natural light, creates a welcoming entrance, and provides visual connections with other School of Environmental and Forest Sciences buildings.
