UW Tacoma Phase 2b

Lewis converted five historic buildings at UW Tacoma into academic and support spaces, including the Institute of Technology, nursing, a new student center, student services, and offices. Retail spaces were included along Pacific Avenue. We retained and restored much of the original structures. Some elements were replaced or upgraded, such as structural supports and energy-efficient replica windows. The project was closely regulated by the Tacoma Landmarks Commission. This was the first University of Washington project and the first project in Tacoma to be LEED certified for environmental sustainability.
