Health Sciences Education Building

Lewis is the design-builder for this 100,000-square-foot center for health sciences education amidst the existing Health Sciences Complex.

The building houses an expansive anatomy laboratory, classrooms, skills laboratories, staff/faculty offices (primarily for hoteling), student kitchen and wellness areas, informal learning areas and breakout spaces. With one level below-grade and four above, the highly-sustainable structure is a composite of steel framing, cross laminated timber decking and roof structure and concrete topping slabs. The building is designed to foster interaction, collaboration and creativity among the UW’s world-class clinical, research and academic departments.
