Projects
Garfield High School Renovation and Addition

The Project
Lewis restored and updated Garfield High School, a Central District landmark since 1923. Work included historic façade restoration, seismic upgrades, and interior reconfiguration. New construction added an athletic and performing arts center, including the 597-seat Quincy Jones Auditorium.

About
As one of the most complex historic renovation and addition projects completed by the Seattle School District to date, key architectural features were salvaged and repurposed, while a replica of the ornate proscenium that once framed the auditorium’s stage was commissioned and installed.
