Projects
701 Dexter

The Project
Lewis built the 227,000-square-foot, 11-story life sciences building in South Lake Union and anchor of a new, sustainable Energy District. The project features floating mezzanines, a unique articulating façade, and a two-story glass bike locker with North America’s first automated bike parking system. 701 Dexter also houses a sewer heat exchange plant that will supply energy to future buildings.

About
To accommodate the articulations, the underside of the protruding floor slabs are tapered to the edge, requiring Lewis to perform complicated formwork and shoring procedures to achieve the desired profiles.
