Breaking Ground on Washington State's Newest Public Health Labs

Breaking ground on Washington State's Newest Publish Health Lab

This month marks an important step forward for public health in Washington.

We recently joined the Washington State Department of Health to break ground on the South Lab Addition at the Public Health Laboratory campus in Shoreline, a vital project years in the making.

Designed by The Miller Hull Partnership, LLP, the 32,000-square-foot expansion will add new labs and offices for the Environmental Lab Services department, expanding testing capabilities and capacity across a wide range of public health needs. The design employs advanced MEP systems to support testing and energy reduction goals.

This new facility will advance prevention and preparedness in our state while reflecting a commitment to modern public health infrastructure that supports our communities.

The South Lab Addition will be complete in Q2 2027.
