Giving Back: The Lewis 2020 Corporate Social Responsibility Report

by Bart Ricketts, Chief Executive Officer

As we move into an “unlike-any-other” type of holiday season, I find myself drawing positivity and inspiration from the community outreach, volunteerism and philanthropic support fueled by the compassion found within our Lewis Universe. I invite you to take a deep dive into the Lease Crutcher Lewis 2020 Corporate Social Responsibility Report. I am thrilled by the collective work in our local communities, which is summarized in three key areas:

  • Supporting impactful non-profit organizations
  • Promoting Diversity and Equity within our industry and communities
  • Advancing sustainability

I’m extremely proud of the great work our employees have done and the variety of meaningful causes and organizations our people care about, bring to the forefront and champion–all in an effort for better futures for all in our communities.  There are many worthy causes that benefit from our sponsorships and volunteerism and I’m personally inspired by the work we’re doing to address homelessness and social inequities. We see the human impact of homelessness on our streets every day and we continually witness poor outcomes across societal systems for BIPOC members of our community. Our partnerships with organizations like Mary’s Place, Plymouth Housing, JOIN, ANEW–and our commitments and participation in initiatives like Safe From Hate, Culture of Care and Washington Employers for Racial Equity–are critical efforts for positive change in our communities.

Lewis’ give-back culture starts with our core value of “Fulfillment” and the purpose our people find in being involved in moving our communities forward. This strength is further amplified in Lewis’ Purpose:

“Lewis empowers our people to improve our communities, turning passion for our craft into buildings that matter.”

Corporate Stewardship remains vitally important to the health of our communities. At Lewis, we seek to provide leadership to address the critical community issues at hand, inspire other companies to join us and support our Lewis employees where they choose to get involved. Looking ahead, it’s important to take stock in what’s been accomplished, see what still needs to be addressed in our society and gather the momentum and resources necessary to take on the next challenge in our communities. We’re pleased to share this report and encourage you to help us spread inspiration and positivity by sharing it with those around you.
