Purchasing Agent



Lease Crutcher Lewis is seeking a Purchasing Agent to service the job site in procurement, expediting and scheduling deliveries of materials, tools, and equipment. This position also includes responsibilities to secure best pricing as well as processing the invoices for final approval.

The Purchasing Agent will assist in the acquisition of materials and supplies that are critical to the success of our projects and business operations at Lewis. This position reports to the Superintendent and Project Manager.


Purchasing and Project Management

  • Manage all field and rental purchases for the project
  • Meet with the Superintendent and Project Manager to understand the tools and equipment necessary for the project
  • Develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification in conjunction with the Lewis yard
  • Responsible for back ordered items
  • Manage the in/out freight, deliveries and delivery board
  • Negotiate purchase and rental pricing with suppliers, including establishing new relationships with suppliers to ensure adequate resources for projects
  • Prepare, issue, and administer purchase orders for the field, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and applicable regulations
  • Ensure that supplier performance and compliance is within a cost effective and timely manner
  • Manage the yard rentals, invoice and billing
  • Manage the invoice approval process through Spectrum system
  • Manage the tool repair and inventory process, along with the safety equipment assigned to field-harnesses
  • Management of the dumpsters and LEED recycling


  • Communication with the field pertaining to all purchasing
  • Meets regularly with the Superintendent and Project Manager to identify problems or challenges
  • Ongoing communication with vendors and suppliers to maintain relationships


  • Maintain purchase order and all corresponding documentation
  • Management of the Purchase Order and Rental Logs
  • Manage the documentation of the Concrete and Concrete Pump Log
  • Manage the material and quantity verification and check-in process upon delivery


  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with working knowledge of Google docs, and Smart Sheet
  • Spectrum experience a plus, but not required
  • Experience with purchasing in the construction industry preferred
  • Ability to clearly communicate effectively and in a timely manner with multiple team members and vendors
  • Ability to be a self-starter and manage a fluctuating workload
  • Willing to proactively manage responsibilities
  • Requires work on active construction sites
