New ORs and Upgrades Coming to Legacy Emanuel West Tower
Our healthcare team is gearing up for a transformative four-year project at Legacy Health Emanuel Medical Center’s West Tower in Portland. Kicking off this fall, phase one includes adding 14 new operating rooms within an existing shell space.
Working alongside ZGF Architects and Pacific Ironclad, other critical upgrades involve building out new pre- and post-surgery recovery areas, a state-of-the-art Sterile Processing Department (SPD), dedicated Adult and Pediatric PACUs (Post-Anesthesia Care Units), and more.
Through early planning and advanced virtual design technology, we’re coordinating with patient care teams to minimize disruptions and navigate existing conditions.
It’s an honor to support Legacy’s commitment to delivering exceptional patient care for the community.

OSU Inducts Lauren Holmes Into the Academy of Distinguished Engineers
Last week, Oregon State University honored Lewis project executive and OSU alumna Lauren Holmes by inducting her into the Academy of Distinguished Engineers, one of the three categories that comprise the Oregon Stater Awards.
Some fun facts about Lauren:
Project pride: Lauren’s proudest achievement is leading the delivery of the polar bear, primate, and rhino habitats at the Oregon Zoo, a technically complex project that required deep collaboration across diverse teams, stakeholders, and community partners, all while keeping animal wellbeing at the forefront.
Championing others: An advocate for students, women in construction, and emerging industry leaders, Lauren invests deeply in lifting others as she leads.
Industry leadership: Lauren has been an active member of the National Association of Women in Construction’s Portland chapter (NAWIC Portland Chapter 54) since 2005 and has served as president four times.

Advancing Career and Technical Education at Lane Community College
The new Industry and Trades Education Center (ITEC) at Lane Community College is advancing vocational and technical education in Oregon’s South Willamette Valley.
Designed by Hennebery Eddy Architects, ITEC brings LCC's career technical education and apprenticeship programs together under one roof, preparing students for careers in construction, the MEP trades, advanced manufacturing, unmanned aircraft systems, and more.
Built for what’s next, ITEC features flexible learning and lab spaces that can evolve with new tools, technologies, and instructional methods. The result: a future-ready facility designed to support the region’s growing demand for skilled craft workers.
In addition to building ITEC, we’re proud to support PASS Lane (Pathways, Academic Skills, and Services). Through a grant from the Lease Crutcher Lewis Foundation, the program is removing barriers for English-language learners entering construction and apprenticeship programs at ITEC.
We’re grateful to support LCC’s vision for the future of workforce development!
