Lewis Lean. Changing the Way Jobs Get Built.
Lewis has a laser focus on adding value for our clients. One of the most effective ways is to eliminate the waste inherent in typical construction delivery. So we look at every daily task, challenge the status quo, and ask “how can this be improved upon?” In 2008, we formalized this philosophy with a program called Lewis Lean. The results have been impressive. Through ingenuity, implementation of technology, and strong collaboration with the design and subcontractor community, we are delivering projects more safely, faster, and at lower cost. We like to say Lewis is “changing the way jobs get built.”
For example, at the two-tower Via6, we met an extremely aggressive 21-month schedule and budget while reducing RFIs from a typical 2,000 to just 187. At Lakeside School's new Paul G. Allen Athletics Center, we cut our surveying costs 50% by adopting cutting-edge software that exported our virtual model into our surveying instrument. We have also reduced paper usage by 75% throughout Lewis with digital and online tools to improve communication. At the University of Washington Bothell's Discovery Hall, the owner reported an 80% decrease in change orders as compared to similar successful projects.
