Community stewardship is a core focus at Lewis, and we’re proud of our tradition of giving back to the communities we help build. Lewis employees raise funds for cancer research, repair homes for elderly people, and collect food for hungry families—to name a few causes. Our corporate giving and employee charitable contributions matching programs encourage personal engagement, and many of our employees provide volunteer leadership within local non-profit organizations.
Some recent examples:
Lease Crutcher Lewis was ALL IN for Obliteride in 2014. It was a fantastic experience—raising dollars for a great cause, socializing and volunteering with our peers outside the office, and great bike rides. As a general contractor with deep Seattle roots, we were able to leverage our network of company and personal relationships to add donors, riders and volunteers. In the end the team brought in 156 riders, 44 volunteers and six virtual riders, together raising over $222,000.
Construction, architecture, and engineering firms come together annually to design and build structures using canned foods to combat hunger. In the last four years, Lewis teams have raised $80,000 for the Oregon Food Bank and Food for Lane County.
This year Lewis is taking their United Way campaign up a notch with a two-week blitz that includes company events, education, and promotional activities. The three broad priorities of the United Way this year: Meeting People's Basic Needs, Ending Homelessness in King County, and Giving Kids an Equal Chance, are important to all of us who live and work in this community. With a $10,000 corporate donation as a start, Lewis is well on its way to setting a company record for support.
